Chelsea are set to prepare more than £100m in the 2022 summer transfer window. If they hope to sign West Ham midfielder Declan Rice as the club insist they do not want to let their rivals join London.

The 22-year-old is reportedly keen on a new challenge with the Champions League squad and has rejected two contract extensions. But the Hammers still have an advantage as their current commitments are reached. It will start at Jun 2024 plus the option to extend the team for one more season.

That allows West Ham to set a price of at least £100m for Rice. The same rate Manchester City bought Jack Grealish from Aston Villa. 

Looking at the necessity of Chelsea, the position is still waiting for the situation to be advantageous. That with current favorites such as Jorginho, N’Golo Kante or Mateo Kovacic still available. Use for many more years 

The accelerating factor for ‘ Chelsea ‘ is probably interest from Manchester United and Manchester City, two league rivals who hope for Rice as well.
